Diplomacy and summits: Europe at the heart of global discussions
From 4 to 12 September 2025, the European agenda will be punctuated by a series of major events: the Ukraine summit in Paris with President Zelensky, the economic forum in Vladivostok and the NATO speech in Prague, Europe is asserting itself as a central player in the geopolitical balance. These meetings reflect the urgent need for international solidarity and unity in the face of pressing threats. The Left perspective insists on the need to direct this cooperation towards peace, social justice and respect for fundamental rights, while rejecting any warmongering of common resources.
Citizen mobilisation and social justice on the European agenda
In parallel with the diplomatic discussions, the European calendar is giving way to trade union and grassroots mobilisations for the extension of rights: climate marches, Pride in Limoges, the forum of associations in Brive, webinars in support of equality and transition. These initiatives, led in particular by civil society organisations, illustrate a progressive dynamic that puts solidarity, inclusion and emancipation at the centre of the agenda. The European Left stresses the need to strengthen citizen participation and to defend access to rights for all, in the face of threatening identity-based divisions.
